Seabound Live Album "Come Forward - Live in Berlin" due in April

I've yet to see Seabound live but I suspect they rock the house. This makes me pretty exited to hear the news they are dropping a live album in April. The posted the following news on their myspace. Enjoy!

While Seabound get preparations for the US tour 2008 up to speed, another Seabound release is raring to go: Metropolis Records will release Seabound's live album "Come Forward - Live in Berlin" in April. This album features a live recording of Seabound's show from October 6th, 2007 in Berlin. C64 Remix Action

I admit that I'm a fan of video game music without guilt or hesitation. proves I'm not the only one by remixing a Commadore 64 tune called "Lightforce" by Rob Hubbard. The song is really amazingly good. Please download it and see for yourself!

And One 2008 International Tour Dates

Someone out there was looking for these so here you go. They put on a great show when I got lucky and saw them perform with VNV Nation before they pulled out of the rest of that tour. Let us hope this tour ends up being less drama fraught.

So I should probably be taken out in the street and shot for not noticing and posting this sooner (thanks for the tip, Dave). Two of my current favorite bands are touring... together, and they are playing a club close enough for me to walk to. This is a glorious day. The dates and venues are as follows. Rejoice.

UPDATE: Ground Zero canceled the Minneapolis show. Why do they have to suck so hard? Is anyone in charge over there who is competent? I don't think so at all.
To the benefit of not me, Iris has added shows in Chicago and Detroit.

Neuroticfish Calls it Quits. Last Show to be Wave & Gotik Treffen 2008

Another great band joins the annals of history. After their upcoming final performance at Wave & Gotik Treffen in Leipzig in May, Neuroticfish will "close." This is heartbreaking news. I can only hope that Sascha Mario Klein and Henning Verlage move on to things bigger and better. Futurepopolis wishes you both luck and I sure wish I could be at that show.

Colony 5 Early Album Release

According to Colony 5's website, they are going to release their upcoming album Buried Again early with a followup "Massive" tour. I'd like to see these guys. I wonder if massive includes the US. I doubt it, tragically. We miss out.

Assemblage 23 Australian Tour 2008

Here are the confirmed dates for A23's Aussie tour. Go if you can. The show was wonderful on my side of the planet.

December 28th - Melbourne, Australia @ The Corner Hotel
December 29th - Sydney, Australia @ The Gaelic Theatre
January 4th - Brisbane, Australia @ The Globe Theatre
January 5th - Perth, Australia @ Gilkinsons

Happy New Year one and all! Let's hope that 2008 brings many more great bands for us to enjoy, and maybe the return of ones we thought long dead. Too many great ones have faded away for my tastes.

Assemblage 23 Meta Tour Review

Assemblage 23 performed in Madison, WI on Oct. 14th so I decided to drag myself out to see the show. Things started on a bad note, literally, when Tom Shear began singing. He was a very hoarse sounding, but that thankfully disappeared completely as the show progressed. Tom was backed by a keyboardist and a drummer, with a bulk of the music being prepackaged, which I sort of expected. I was most looking forward to hearing Madman's Dream off of the new album and I was pleased they performed it. The older songs were almost always remixes, which I really appreciated. Dirt was performed, which I didn't expect at all and totally loved. Tom's performance was energetic and very sincere, reminding me of Ronan Harris from VNV. It could also be their matching hairstyles. Another thing that impressed me was Tom's view of encores, which matches mine perfectly. Instead of leaving the stage and making people clap for 10 minutes like monkeys, he just asked if we wanted some more songs and played them. I wish every band worked like that. It's so much more efficient. I would definitely see them perform again. The crowd was totally into it and that made the experience that much more enjoyable.
